Beard and Moustache Transplant

Beard & Mustache Transplant

For many men, the absence of a beard can be a troubling issue, and in some cases, it can lead to significant psychological discomfort. Men who seek beard transplantation usually have asymmetrical beard growth or sparse areas where hair does not grow. Beard transplantation is performed similarly to other hair transplant procedures. This safe procedure has no side effects and can be applied to patients of all ages.

Mustache transplantation is a delicate process due to the sensitivity of the facial area. Initially, it may cause slightly more side effects compared to other areas, but the face generally heals faster than other regions. Medications or lotions cannot stimulate new mustache growth; they may only slow hair loss. The only permanent solution to restore facial hair is mustache transplantation.

How Is Beard & Mustache Transplant Performed?

Beard transplantation is carried out using the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, the same technique used in hair transplantation. Hair follicles genetically resistant to shedding are harvested one by one from the donor area at the back of the head (between the ears). Each follicle is then carefully angled and placed into the sparse areas of the beard.

Healthy, genetically resistant hair from the donor area is transplanted to thin regions. This procedure, similar to hair transplantation, can also restore areas affected by patchy growth, alopecia, burns, or scars, resulting in a more aesthetic and natural appearance.
